If you aren't an owner of America's most-popular rifle platform yet, one of these options are a great entry point into the AR world, offering a a basic starting point on a budget. Together, all of these rifles comprise some of the most affordable AR-15s on the market today. The rifle also differs from many designs on this list in that it's built with a mid-length gas system instead of a carbine-length, which reduces felt recoil and also cuts down on internal-component wear from overgassing. The rifle also includes some upgraded touches, like a collapsible Minimalist stock and pistol grip from Mission First Tactical, as well as an ambidextrous selector switch, billet magazine release and bolt catch of Radical's own design. The company offers several different handguard lengths, so you'll see variations on the market. This particular model is equipped with the company's 12-inch FCR handguard, a free-float design compatible with M-Lok attachments. about 6.8 lbs vs 5.8 lbs.In its RF-16 lineup, Radical Firearms has an interesting option that can be found in several different configurations. The chrome lined kit is still a better value but is heavier. You can add your own stock and handguard easily. It is completely assembled and is regularly on sale for under $600 shipped.
Something you may also check out if you are in the budget for a 'cheap lite' AR-15 is the Del-ton sport. The Del-Ton Echo 316/B5 builds on the great Echo 316 platform with the addition of a KeyMod carbine-length handguard, Bravo stock, P-grip, enhanced trigger. Del-ton's customer service is much better, and you can actually get ahold of on the phone or an email reply from Del-ton in a reasonable timeframe. The only reason for that is that Palmetto comes up with quite a variety of upper configurations. I will note that I have one Del-ton but several Palmetto uppers/rifles. (I recommend B5 sopmod stock $60 and magpul MOE handguard ($35)) Although B5 is coming out with keymod handguards in the next couple months and I am anxious to try one of those out! They are much thinner diameter, almost like the expensive floated rails. It is better components (chrome lined barrel), and everybody replaces the stock handguards anyway.

I paid $450 in july plus shipping and my friends paid $490 + shipping in december. It is the most expensive kit they have at around $520. If you can handle building one (I recommend $50 in ace roll pin set and a roll pin starter punch set), I recommend the rifle kit that I have. I'm very satisfied with the fit and finish on all of the rifles. Troy OEM M4 Sling Mount Our Price: 45.00.
Add quick-release bipods, slings with custom adapters and extra rails. 2 different friends ordered the same kit and theirs have ran great too. Improve the look and function of your AR-15 with tactical accessories from Del-Ton. I'm sure the rifle shoots better, I'm still working on my skillset :). I ordered 2, put them together, got 2" groups my first time shooting 100 yards with PMC brass 5.56. Kit was about $515 shipped and we ordered directly from Del-ton. (the upper is completely assembled, you just build the lower). Ours are the chrome lined heavy barrel 16", and we built them from kits. I have 4 Del-ton's in my circle of friends. No, I would go for Sierra, I think the only difference is that Sierra is Mid Length instead of Carbine gas system.
